Brief: A small, but vitally important, extension at Cowbit St Marys Primary School. The school required a new principal entrance to provide additional safeguarding means which also needed to reflect its local surroundings.
Challenges: Adjacent to the site is the Grade 1 Listed St Mary’s church. As a building of upmost importance, any works in its surrounding environment must be carefully planned so as not to retract from the area. SRA designed a small but functional extension which reflected the natural characteristics of the original school building.
